If the cached data by the SMS app has been somehow corrupted it might prevent the messages from going out to their respective recipients. Therefore, the first thing you should try is to clear the cache, this action will not delete any of the messages.

  1. Open the Settings menu on the Android device, then go to the Applications or Application Manager tab.
  2. Try to find the SMS app and tap on it. If by any reason you are unable to see the SMS app, tap on the three dots in the top right corner and then select Show System Apps.
  3. Tap on Storage, select the Clear Cache option and confirm it if the system asks you to.
  4. Wait for the cache to be cleared and check if the issue is still there.

If clearing the cache of the SMS app did not fix the issue, then try to clear the data of the SMS app. We recommend to make a back up of the important messages just in case they are deleted.

Clearing the data of the SMS app does not delete the messages in every single android mobile device, but it does for some of them. In order to do this, just repeat the process aforementioned in the previous method and tap on the Clear Data option instead of the Clear Cache one. This should fix the error code once for all.
